The third in our series of Guild Workshops, on March 28, 2015, brings an opportunity for Guild members to learn about and practice the art of paper marbling. Marbling is a technique that involves using absorbent papers to pick up paint from a water bath. Participants will learn two different techniques for marbling paper ANDĀ fabric, and leave the workshop with a selection of marbled papers and fabric for use in making books or other creative work.
This workshop will be led by Corlis Taylor, Guild member, book artist and quilter. Corlis has been quilting and making books for a number of years and especially enjoys making books with sewn bindings such as Coptic and long stitch with specialty papers. Corlis has had the opportunity to take quilting and book arts classes from instructors throughout the country and loves to teach what she has learned.
