This timeless book structure has been around since the Middle Ages, getting its name from its flexible animal skin covers. Using historic limp bindings as our inspiration, we will make our books using Khadi paper in lieu of vellum, learn how to work traditional end bands, and sew the text block over leather supports. The leather is then laced through the cover, making this is a non-adhesive structure that utilizes many techniques that can be applied to a variety of bindings. Come learn all about this amazingly versatile piece of codex history!
