Learn how to make a hand-sewn book using the Japanese pamphlet stitch in a concertina structure. We will make a beautiful cover and binding from prepared painted Strathmore papers, and cut or tear fine Hahnemuhle papers for the stitched folios inside the book. This is a great class for beginning or intermediate level book makers. All materials will be provided. Please bring the following tools: X-acto knife, a long ruler (24″), a shorter ruler, cutting mat, awl, and scissors. Bring a snack and beverage if you’d like.
This class will be led by Susan Campbell & Mary Maisch, on April 25, 2015, at The Folk School Fairbanks, from 12:00 to 4:00pm.
