Basic Blank Journals for Beginners is a class for folks interested in making a hand-sewn blank journal with a few pockets. A variety of papers will be available for covers, pockets and decoration. Students will learn how to fold , assemble, and stitch a blank book using a 5-hole pamphlet stitch, with optional bead embellishments. No prior experience is necessary, so if you’ve always wanted to try your hand at basic bookmaking, this is the class for you. This class is for adults and is also a family-friendly class for adults and kids (ages 8-12) who want to work together to make some journals.
This journal could be used by students for writing, sketching, and field journaling in other Migration Theme classes at The Folk School.
