This month’s Guild activity will feature a classic accordion Flag Book. This dynamic structure, inspired by Hedi Kyle, Susan King, and others, is a fun and versatile way to incorporate a series of images, texts, photos, or collected objects in your artist books.
Elevate your favorite quotes to a new level! Try your hand at new calligraphic styles – including flourishes, borders, and decorated initials. Then create a handy half-size file folder to hold your collection of lettering samples and handouts to inspire future projects.

Winter has officially arrived, our clocks are set back, and holiday preparations have begun! Join the Northwoods Book Arts Guild at our next meeting on Thursday, November 19, 2015, from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Pioneer Park’s Blue Room. We will open the meeting with updates on the Letterpress Project and pass around samples produced by the recent Letterpress class attendees, announce and plan for upcoming classes, exchange “Winter Card” books, and top off the meeting by learning how to make gift bags from almost any kind of paper!
