Books as Art 2: Getting Ready!

The moment has come! It’s time to plan your entries for Books as Art 2, our second major exhibition of books by Guild members. The show is scheduled for June 2 through 30 at the Well Street Art Company here in Fairbanks. This group exhibition will explore books as art and welcomes a wide spectrum of handcrafted book forms. They may be editioned or unique, sculptural or more traditionally bound, interactive or passive.
This meeting will focus on getting ready to meet the challenge of Books as Art 2. We’ll talk about where ideas come from, how to make them real, and begin to generate ideas for books of our own. We’ll also discuss categories of book structures and, in a hands-on activity, create a foldable-book with ideas and strategies to guide our inspiration.
