Karen Stomberg will be presenting, “Mixed-Media Paper Embellishing AND a Tour of Orcha, India” at The Folk School Fairbanks, on December 13, 2014. The class will meet from 10:00am to 4:00pm. This workshop is an invitation to visit “The Hand Made Paper Unit”, a rag papermaking cooperative in Orcha, India, through Karen’s photos and samples–then make mixed-media embellished papers with some tools and materials from Orcha. Attendees will be using stamping, direct painting, monotype and block printing techniques on handmade rag papers from India–using non-toxic printing inks, dry pigment, acrylic and metallic paints, to create a folder of special papers for your projects.
